Qigong
Perhaps not as well known as Tai Chi outside China, Qigong is an exercise system designed to maintain good health and to help improve our general health and wellbeing. 

Qigong focuses on relaxed, gentle movements combined with breathing along with meditation practice (often performed standing, but sometimes seated or even lying down). 

Qigong is an excellent starting point for students who wish to improve their health through shorter, easier to remember exercises.  

Paignton Tai Chi Studio Qigong classes focus on the Taoyin Qigong exercises from the Lee Family Style of Chinese Internal Arts.  

These exercises combine relaxed, gentle movement with breathing and offer a safe form of exercise for people of any age and any level of physical fitness. 

Qigong classes offer the opportunity to come along to a class and follow the instructor through the exercises. Most exercises can be adapted to be performed seated if standing for prolonged periods is a difficulty.
